What a warm welcome from Lucia and Daniele at Agriturismo L’Antica Fornace. Lucia is fulfilling her father’s wish to introduce you to the real Tuscany—its nature, tranquility, and cuisine. Let yourself be pampered and do absolutely nothing, or explore the beautiful surroundings.
L’Antica Fornace—the old kiln—offers 4 apartments, a suite, and 3 Glamping tents located on the large estate.
Your morning begins with a hearty breakfast, prepared by Lucia, featuring plenty of local, mostly organic products—and, of course, a cappuccino. If you’re staying in the Glamping tent, you can enjoy your breakfast on your own porch.
During the summer months, you can take part in a pasta-making workshop with Chef Francesca, take a tour of the farm with a tasting of traditional Tuscan dishes in the garden, or enjoy a wine and olive oil tasting in the new cellar. At L’Antica Fornace, you can also purchase their homemade products: various types of honey, organic olive oil, and wines.
The farm is situated amid the rolling hills of Valdera, at the foot of the picturesque village of Cedri, in the municipality of Peccioli. It is a 39-hectare farm, comprising 5 hectares of olive groves, 3 hectares of vineyards, and the rest is woodland.
Its location at approximately 230 meters above sea level, the clay-like sandy soil, and the mild maritime climate create ideal conditions for the region’s distinctive products.
The farm produces organic DOC wines from native Tuscan grape varieties such as Sangiovese, Foglia tonda, Canaiolo, and Vermentino, as well as Tuscan IGP olive oil from the many centuries-old olive trees in the surrounding countryside. L’Antica Fornace is certified by the European organic certification body BIOAGRICERT.
“The desire to go with the flow of tradition becomes an opportunity to breathe new life into our agricultural and cultural heritage in a contemporary way: rediscovering ancient knowledge with a deeper awareness.””
Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Siena, and the coast are all just an hour’s drive from L’Antica Fornace. Closer by, you’ll find:
