Story Studio Piódão is the second residential unit from the Story Studio brand, located in the center of the historic village of Piódão, in the Serra do Açor in inland Portugal.

The historic village of Piódão is one of Portugal’s twelve historic villages that transports you to another era. The American Huff Post described Piódão as “looking as if it came straight out of *The Flintstones*,” given its similarities to the Stone Age. The village’s architectural layout, its location far from urban centers, and its surrounding landscape define the unique character of this icon of Portuguese heritage.

A picturesque little village built of slate, situated on a hill that resembles an amphitheater, earning it the name “Aldeia Presépio” (historic nativity scene).

Piódão is located near beautiful nature reserves, including Mata da Margaraça, Fraga da Pena, and many other places featuring local architecture, hidden in the deep valleys of the Serra do Açor.

Story Studio Piodao, Exclusive Accommodations

This beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated accommodation features a double bedroom (with a double bed) on a mezzanine for optimal privacy. Story Studio Piódão sleeps 2+2 people (comfortable extra sofa bed in the living room). Like all homes in Piódão, this accommodation also features blue doors and window frames.

The studio has a large living room with hardwood floors, a very comfortable sofa (sofa bed), and a TV (with over 150 channels). You have free internet access, and there is air conditioning.

The apartment has a modern kitchenette, fully equipped with high-quality appliances (refrigerator, gas stove, dishwasher, washer and dryer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker), kitchen utensils, and various spices, so you can prepare your own meals.

It also features a renovated bathroom with a shower stall, a hair dryer, and towels.

Story Studio Piodao: Sustainable Home

The home features a smart climate control system installed in the floor (radiant heating) for added comfort and convenience. It also features a biofireplace that produces no smoke, odors, or waste.

The property uses a self-check-in system (access code at the entrance) and offers 24-hour phone support, so you can fully enjoy your destination.

There is a security camera outside, and inside there are motion sensors, a smoke detector, a fire extinguisher, a fire blanket, and a first-aid kit to ensure optimal safety.

The property offers personalized tourist information about Piódão, its main attractions, and routes for exploring the unique surroundings.

In addition, you’ll have two electric bikes at your disposal during your stay.
