Everything about this place exudes character: from the colorful, carefully curated decor to the many terraces and seating areas, each offering a different view. In the shade of the monumental carob tree (Alfarrobeira), you can let your thoughts wander freely.

The estate (12 ha) offers plenty of space and privacy. All the buildings have been built and restored with care, using sustainable methods and an eye for detail. A delightful spot in the countryside, not far from the Via Algarviana and beautiful sandy beaches, open year-round.

“We’ve never stayed anywhere quite like this beautiful place, and we can’t recommend it highly enough. The Quinta is completely unique, incredibly peaceful, and the perfect place to unwind! We absolutely loved meeting the animals that live there—they really are a delight and bring so much joy to the place.”

Eclectic and sustainable

Quinta Alfarrobeira, often described by guests as“a paradise where the world seems to stand still for a moment and thoughts find peace,” offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside dotted with ancient olive, almond, and fig trees. The estate is run by its Dutch owners in a down-to-earth, relaxed, and sustainable manner.

Fruit trees, flowers, and herbs attract bees and butterflies all year round. The property’s energy supply relies largely on solar power, with systems for hot water and heating. The solar carport features a charging station for electric cars, so renting an electric car allows you to reduce your carbon footprint.

The buildings were constructed sustainably, largely using reused historic building materials. Rainwater from these buildings and terraces is largely collected. For maintenance and cleaning, natural materials and environmentally friendly products are used whenever possible. Waste is sorted and recycled. The orchards and gardens are maintained using organic fertilizers and pesticides.

Swimming Pool and Sauna

Surrounded by trees and flowers lies the large eco-friendly swimming pool, where the water remains soft and clear thanks to natural chlorination. Gentle on the skin and eyes. To the sound of a small waterfall, you can drift off into a blissful nap on the Moroccan lounge chairs or in a hammock. Every day, summer and winter, you can enjoy the spacious, beautiful Finnish sauna, located right next to the pool.

Courtyard with a bread oven

All the guest accommodations are nestled in the peaceful courtyard garden among old olive trees, fruit trees, and small herb gardens. In the center of the courtyard garden stands a traditional bread oven, which is occasionally fired up for group pizza nights—a lovely way to bring everyone together.

Among the old olive trees, you’ll also find hammocks where you can read, relax, or simply gaze up at the starry sky that stretches clearly above the estate in the evening.

Staying at Quinta Alfarrobeira

De Quinta offers 2 rooms and 3 houses.

A Granja (2–3 people: crib in the bedroom or extra bed in the living room) is a cozy cottage with one bedroom featuring a double bed, a traditionally tiled Portuguese bathroom with a bathtub and shower, and a living room with a kitchenette and a wood-burning stove.
