And the best part? They’re eager to share it with you. Not with a slick marketing pitch, but with a meal on the table, a stroll around the property, and that typical Molise pride: “Look how beautiful our little piece of Italy is.”

Welcome to Tenuta Mirco Agriturismo, a small-scale, intimate retreat in the countryside of Montenero di Bisaccia (Molise), where you’ll wake up surrounded by hills and end your day with the sea just a stone’s throw away.

At a Glance

Location: Contrada Ripa del Monaco, Montenero di Bisaccia (Campobasso Province, Molise)

Atmosphere: family-owned business, 3 generations of farming and hospitality

Accommodations: 6 rooms (Orzo, Ulivo, Grano, Girasole, Avena, Malfì)

Relax: pool + hydromassage (and a lovely garden/porch)

Dining: a restaurant in the old barn, serving local and seasonal produce (mostly from our own farm)

Extras: Accommodations for allergies/intolerances (upon request), small pets welcome for an additional fee, smoke-free

Staying at Tenuta Mirco: Three Rooms, Three Atmospheres

What I like about small-scale agriturismi: you don’t have to choose between authenticity and comfort. You get both, but without the mass tourism that usually comes with it.

Tenuta Mirco has created 6 rooms, each with its own unique character:

Orzo (1–2 people): romantic, with a double four-poster bed, closet, LCD TV, and private bathroom with shower and bidet.

Ulivo (2+2 people): spacious room with a double bed, luggage rack, wardrobe, LCD TV, and private bathroom (shower, window, bidet).

Grano (2+2 people): just as spacious and practically furnished as Ulivo, with a private bathroom (shower, window, bidet).

Girasole (2+3 people): spacious room with a double bed and a private bathroom (shower and bidet).

Avena. (2+3 people): spacious room with a double bed, private bathroom (shower and bidet).

“Malfi” (2 people): room with a double bed in the annex across from the pool.

Breakfast is included. All rooms are non-smoking and come equipped with a hair dryer and complimentary toiletries. Small pets are welcome (for an additional fee).

The restaurant in the old stable: Molise on your plate

The restaurant is located in the old stable—and that’s exactly the kind of detail that makes my Nature Travel Lab heart beat faster. Here, you won’t find “Italian classics for everyone,” but rather dishes that reflect the season and the region.

Mirco produces (some of) the ingredients himself and lets you taste what makes Molise so special: simplicity, quality, and a cuisine that doesn’t shout, but lingers.

Good to know: Tenuta Mirco is also a favorite spot for locals who celebrate weddings, birthdays, and parties there. That’s always a good sign, because it means this isn’t just a setting—it’s a place that’s truly alive.

Pool & Hydromassage: the joy of doing nothing with a view

After a day of strolling through villages or an afternoon at the beach, there’s nothing quite as nice as “just doing nothing.” Tenuta Mirco has a pool with a hydromassage feature and a garden/veranda where you can let time return to its normal pace.

Pro tip: Plan at least one “do-nothing day.” Molise is surprisingly good at that.

Three Generations of Passion: From Sheep to Olive Trees

The farm has been in the family for three generations. It originally focused on sheep farming, but later expanded to include grains, olive trees, vegetables, jam, cured meats, and a small orchard. The agricultural foundation was laid by the grandparents (Michele and Amalfi) together with their son Peppino.

The agriturismo was born out of a dream—especially that of Loredana, their mother—to breathe new life into the old family home as a place for relaxation and good food. Today, Caterina, Michele, and their children, Giuseppe and Sofia, carry on that legacy.

And you can feel it. Not as a museum piece, but as a family legacy: love for the land, respect for traditions, and at the same time, a desire to innovate.

Discover Molise from Tenuta Mirco: the sea, villages, and nature

Molise boasts unspoiled natural beauty. It has many beaches with free access, archaeological sites, and charming villages.

Don’t miss:

The Cathedral and Crypt of Trivento

The archaeological sites of Sepino and Altilia (a “little Pompeii”)

The murals of Civitacampomarano: murals since 2014

The Carpinone Waterfalls

The Tremiti Islands: a small archipelago off the Adriatic coast

1) To the coast: the Costa Molisana

Molise has a quiet Adriatic coastline where you can still find spots without rows of beach chairs stretching to the horizon. Think of Termoli, but also Marina di Montenero, Petacciato, and Campomarino.

2) Cultural Day Trip: Larino and the Roman Amphitheater

Interested in history? The Area Archeologica di Larino is a great place to visit, featuring, among other things, the Roman amphitheater (Flavian period). Or the archaeological finds at Sepino and Altilia.

3) Nature Tip: Birdwatching in Bosco Casale (LIPU Reserve)

For a break in nature (and some birdwatching!), there’s the Bosco Casale Regional Nature Reserve near Casacalenda, managed by LIPU. Be sure to visit the Carpinone waterfalls as well.

4) Water & Views: Lake Guardialfiera (Liscione)

A peaceful, picturesque spot: Lago di Guardialfiera (also known as Lago del Liscione). And, of course, the Isole Tremiti: a small archipelago off the coast.

 Authentic agriturismo in Molise

6 rooms for 2 to a maximum of 5 people

 Lovely pool with hydromassage

 Delicious and Fair Food

 Discover the secrets of Molise

[225,286,222,194
253,233,206,208,209
post-36537","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nature-stay","category-molise","category-italy","category-accommodation","tag-agritourism","tag-organic-cuisine","tag-swimming-pool","tag-vegetarian-vegan-cuisine","tag-bnb
["GET
