You\u2019ll be staying here in <a href=\"https:\/\/naturetravellab.com\/italie\/ontdek-wat-te-zien-in-piemonte\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"2890\"><strong>Piedmont<\/strong><\/a> in one of the most remote and unique valleys of the Italian Alps, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/naturetravellab.com\/italie\/piemonte\/valle-maira\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"13835\">Valle Maira<\/a><\/strong>.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The hamlet of Sagna Rotonda has been given a new lease on life thanks to a thorough renovation that took about 4 years. Driven by their love of unspoiled nature, Giovanni and his wife restored the abandoned hamlet\u2014dating back to the 1700s\u2014while preserving its original character.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The result is an innovative project and a wonderful vacation destination in the mountains. It\u2019s truly surrounded by nature at an elevation of 1,700 meters. Nothing but nature. The ideal place for a relaxing and active vacation.     <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sagna Rotonda, a sustainable village with 10 vacation homes  <\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The renovation of the hamlet has resulted in 10 authentic, comfortable vacation homes. The apartments were built in harmony with nature. Each one has its own small terrace or balcony.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a wonderful place to relax after a day outdoors. The sustainable homes are fully equipped and ideal for couples and families. For group stays, a common area is available\u2014for example, for yoga sessions.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are 10 apartments in total: 1 for 2 people, 1 for 3 people, 2 for 4 people, 3 for 5 people, and 3 for 6 people.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hospitality and the rhythm of days gone by<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The homes are fully equipped with all modern conveniences. There\u2019s a garden surrounding the property with various seating areas. There\u2019s free\u2014and super-fast\u2014internet, but (deliberately) no TV. Giovanni, Teresina, and their family want you to experience the unspoiled nature and the rhythm of times gone by. They also want you to feel at home and are more than happy to help you explore the area.      <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"background-color:#eeeee8\">TIP: It&#8217;s also an ideal place to stay for a longer period, if you can work remotely.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:28px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vegetable garden, homemade bread, and pizza  <\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a guest, you\u2019re welcome to help yourself to produce from the organic vegetable garden. Sagna Rotonda also has a small shop selling traditional, local products. Every week, they bake bread and pizza for guests in the original stone oven.    <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sauna and Bistro  <\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the little bistro, you can enjoy a delicious drink after a day of walking or hiking. A sauna and a bath filled with spring water have been built inside an old stone barn.   <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Example of a 7-day stay with hiking tours in Valle Maira  <\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your stay in Sagna Rotonda is the perfect opportunity to go for daily walks or hikes in the mountainous surroundings. It\u2019s also an ideal spot for e-mountain biking. Below is an example of a customized trip through Sagna Rotonda, including a week of walking or hiking:    <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Arrival on Saturday or Sunday. You\u2019ll receive a welcome package with regional products, seasonal vegetables, fresh bread straight from the oven, and a hiking map of the Valle Maira.   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monday: the first hike: a loop around Lago Nero or a hike along the Colle del Mulo ridge.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tuesday: the second tour: the Pier Giorgio Frassati loop or the Rocca la Meja tour. In the evening, delicious fresh bread straight from the oven.   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wednesday: your third hike\u2014either a hike around the Rocca Provenzale or a loop around Lago Oserot.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thursday: Hike to Lago Roburent or Lago Camoscere. Freshly baked bread upon returning in the evening.   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Friday: a trip to Lago Tempesta or a tour of the Marmora hamlets. In the evening, wood-fired pizza and focaccia.   <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This package can be booked upon request with Sagna Rotonda. The options listed above are individual hiking tours. You can also ask for separate hikes or pizza upon arrival. The nearest shops are in Prazzo, a 20-minute drive away. At Sagna Rotonda, you can buy what you need for breakfast. You can park your car there, and there is a charging station for electric cars (for a fee).     <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hiking area in the mountains<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The surrounding area is a beautiful place for walking or hiking. Whether you&#8217;re a beginner or an expert, you&#8217;ll thoroughly enjoy the mountain passes, small lakes, and rivers.   <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sustainable Stay and Self-Sufficiency  <\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The renovation was carried out using natural materials and local businesses. Sagna Rotonda has had solar panels since 2011. Environmentally friendly, alternative energy sources have been implemented. The result is a self-sufficient, carbon-neutral space.     <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Local businesses supply the products for the shop. For cleaning and personal hygiene, they use organic products from Greenatural.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>From mid-June through mid-September, you must book a stay of at least one week.
