You can purchase tickets for all three online through Trenitalia (or via the app). At larger stations in Italy, you can also buy your ticket from a ticket machine. Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trenitalia.com\/it\/offerte_e_servizi\/distributori_self-servicedibiglietteriaselfservicemachines.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a> to see which stations offer this option.     <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Regional trains (Trenitalia)<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Convenient for short distances between villages and towns. The tickets are inexpensive and flexible.   <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Intercity (IC)  <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ideal for traveling between medium-sized and large cities.  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. High-speed train in Italy: Frecciarossa  <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Frecciarossa<\/strong>: The Frecciarossa trains (red arrow) travel at speeds of up to about 300 km per hour and take you quickly from one major city to another in Italy. For example, you can travel from Milan to Rome in just 3 hours.   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Frecciargento<\/strong>: In addition, there are the Frecciargento trains (Silver Arrow). These travel at speeds of up to 250 km per hour between Genoa, Florence, Rome, Naples, Lecce, and Reggio Calabria. They feature reclining seats, air conditioning, power outlets, and onboard catering.    <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Frecciabianca<\/strong>: Then there\u2019s also the Frecciabianca (White Arrow). These trains run on the standard-gauge track from Milan and Turin along the coast to Rome. They travel from Genoa along the <a href=\"https:\/\/naturetravellab.com\/italie\/toscane\/6-mooiste-autoroutes-toscane\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tuscan coast<\/a> \u2014with several stops\u2014to Rome. They are comfortable trains with spacious seats, air conditioning, power outlets, and onboard catering.
