It connects Ulldeter and the Mass\u00eds del Canig\u00f3 in a single run. Les Esquerdes de Roj\u00e0 and Pla Guillem offer a 360-degree panoramic view: from Vallespir to the Gulf of Roses, from Carlit to the Rossell\u00f3 plain, and from Garrotxa to Montserrat.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Distance: 21.8 km, approx. 7\u20139 hours of hiking, minimum elevation: 1,718 m, maximum elevation: 2,377 m, total ascent: 703 m, total descent: 996 m.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Stage 3 from Merialles to Mentet  <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here, you\u2019ll venture deep into the Pyrenees. The towns of Pi and Mentet offer a glimpse into life at a leisurely pace. You\u2019ll also discover the highest inhabited villages in the Conflent region and the nature reserves of Pi and Mentet.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Distance: 15.1 km, approx. 6\u20137 hours of hiking, minimum elevation: 940 m, maximum elevation: 1,761 m, total ascent: 887 m, total descent: 1,047 m.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Stage 4 from Mentet to Caran\u00e7\u00e0<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From one of the most isolated towns in the eastern Pyrenees, you\u2019ll pass through a secluded, charming valley: the Vall de Caran\u00e7\u00e0. From the glacial lakes at the foot of the Pic de l&#8217;Infern to the deep Gorges de Caran\u00e7\u00e0, this is a unique valley that few people know about. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Distance: 11.4 km, 4.5\u20136 hours of hiking, minimum elevation: 1,472 m, maximum elevation: 2,321 m, total ascent: 924 m, total descent: 632 m.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Stage 5 from Caran\u00e7a to N\u00faria<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a classic route through the High Pyrenees: one you simply must experience. The Coll de Caran\u00e7\u00e0 and the Coll de Noucreus, a cross-border natural passage steeped in history. Includes 7 nights\u2019 accommodation with half-board. The first night is at a hotel in Vall de N\u00faria, followed by stays in mountain huts in Ulldeter, Merialles, Merialles, Mentet, Caran\u00e7\u00e0, and Vall de N\u00faria. It is a winter phenomenon typical of this region.   <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Shepherds&#8217; huts and monasteries  <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Within the Prats de Moll\u00f3, Pi, and Mentet nature reserves, the shepherds\u2019 huts\u2014small dry-stone shelters\u2014constitute a remarkable architectural heritage. These structures bear witness to the intense activity of the past. During these months, the mountain huts are open and the snow has melted.   <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Route to the Pyrenees in Spain<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By car, Nuria (the starting point of the hike) is about 1,630 kilometers away. By train and bus to Ribes de Freser, the trip takes about 18 hours.
