Lake Lucerne branches out like a hand with too many fingers, deep into the mountains of Central Switzerland. Mount Pilatus and Mount Rigi tower above the water; at the head of the lake lies Lucerne, with its wooden bridges and that one bustling pier where everyone takes the same photo.
