The Serra da Estrela (Mountain of Stars) is a UNESCO geopark in central Portugal. The hotel is located in one of the “historic mountain villages,” Seia, which is part of the Aldeias de Montanha.

About 7 kilometers from Seia, in the hamlet of Lapa dos Dinheiros, you’ll find this 5-star mountain and boutique hotel. The village of Lapa dos Dinheiros is located along the “Rota da Caniça” and“Grande Rota das AldeiasHistóricas” hiking trails. The surrounding area offers beautiful natural scenery as well as excellent hiking and biking trails.

Casas da Lapa has 15 rooms, including 8 suites, a spa with a sauna, hammam, and aromatherapy, no fewer than 3 swimming pools (1 indoor and 2 panoramic outdoor pools), a movie theater, a living room, a library, and a restaurant serving modern local cuisine.

The restaurant serves traditional mountain dishes with a contemporary twist. The architecture is simple and harmonious. The interior design is characteristic of the region: a combination of granite and wood. The fabrics used for the upholstery, sheets, and blankets, as well as the sofas and chairs, all come from a local wool mill.

A natural waterfall has been incorporated into the relaxation area to bring nature even closer. Nature is a distinctive feature of the hotel. In the library, you can enjoy reading and relaxing.

Casas da Lapa’s Sustainability Policy

Casas da Lapa has a strong sense of social responsibility and is deeply committed to the environment. The staff are from the village, the produce comes from local farmers, and the furniture is sourced from local businesses; the furniture is designed using traditional and “low-impact” architectural principles.

To support your personal sustainability goals, you can participate in a detox program. In addition, Casas da Lapa has solar panels, practices waste separation, and minimizes the use of plastic. There are charging stations for electric cars, and nature-based tourism is promoted. Casas da Lapa has received the ESG Engaged sustainability label from Turismo de Portugal (2022 and 2023).
