In the hamlet of Cirlano, near the spa town of Merano in South Tyrol, you’ll find Cirna Lodges: 6 luxury vacation homes offering a unique stay surrounded by nature, all year round. A beautiful place to stay in any season—comfortable and set in a stunning outdoor setting.
Nestled within the natural, centuries-old cultural landscape of the Vinschgau Valley, the market town of Naturns stretches across the fertile land along the Adige River. Cirna Lodges is located here at an elevation of 580 meters. On the western side of the hamlet of Cirlano in Naturns.
Its location between the bustling city life of the still-chic spa town of Merano (12 kilometers away) and the rustic, sparsely populated side valleys of the Vinschgau, such as the Schnalstal and the Martelltal, makes it an ideal spot for a vacation in this fascinating region.
Cirna is the name of the early settlement on the site where Cirlano now stands; it was first documented in 1143.
The basic idea behind the design concept is the use of high-quality materials and the desire to combine modern living space requirements with comfort and sustainability. The result is rooms with natural elements that offer the utmost in home comfort.
There are a total of three lodges, each with two vacation homes. The lodges (each 90 m²) can accommodate 2–5 people and feature two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. The lodges are furnished to a high standard and offer optimal privacy and tranquility. In each lodge, one vacation home is on the ground floor and one is on the first floor.
The garden is lovingly maintained, and it blends beautifully with the natural facades of the lodges. New since spring 2025, the terrace has been renovated with wood and lounge chairs. In addition, a designer private outdoor sauna with mirrored glass and a view of the pool has been installed (also available for private use for a fee). There is also a stainless steel whirlpool with a panoramic view (adults only) and a fire pit by the pool to set the mood.
In addition to using local building materials—such as native larch wood—energy is used sparingly. There is a pellet heating system, natural light is utilized to the fullest, and no plastic bottles are used. You also won’t be given disposable slippers; instead, you can purchase authentic felt slippers from the Schnalstal at a discounted rate for optimal comfort in your vacation home.
In addition, the bathroom is stocked with locally produced toiletries made with pure South Tyrolean mountain spring water (free of silicones, parabens, and dyes, and guaranteed not tested on animals). The natural swimming pool is cleaned without the use of chemicals using a high-flow gravel filter and is open only seasonally.
That is why the lodges have been awarded the “ClimateHouse A” certificate. The lodges were thoroughly evaluated on a wide range of criteria, from energy efficiency, water management, heating, and waste separation to indoor climate control and its impact on human health. They were found to be sustainable.
Take a dip in the natural pool, unwind in your own private infrared sauna, relax on the terrace and in the garden, and enjoy a sustainable, comfortable, and relaxing vacation in the hamlet of Cirlano. The natural swimming pool, with a view of Juval Castle, is the centerpiece of the garden landscape.
The area is ideal for hiking, climbing, and biking. You can visit several castles and museums, and there are wonderful local restaurants, inns, and cafés where you can take a break from your activities.
Bolzano is about 45 km away, and the nearest train station and Castello Principesco are 16 km away.
