Calling all wine lovers. Pieve di Campoli in Tuscany is all about wine. It’s no coincidence that the old rectory is surrounded by vineyards where Andrea Paoletti and his team grow and refine the wine. Here, you’ll be a guest at an active wine and olive farm. The farm is located in the province of Florence, and the estate spans hundreds of hectares across the territories of seven municipalities.

No fewer than 50 hectares of vineyards—once owned by the Archdiocese of Florence—are used to produce Chianti and Chianti Classico wines here. In addition, more than 18,000 olive trees scattered throughout the province yield the most delicious olive oil.

Pieve di Campoli is passionately dedicated to producing the finest products from the fertile soil, always putting its people first. Staying overnight at Pieve di Campoli means being a guest right in the heart of this farm. That also means seeing work being done in the fields, a tractor driving by, and experiencing the scents of a working farm. People are busy with production, harvesting, and tastings. And yet, you’re right in the middle of nature.

2 apartments in the heart of Chianti Classico

The estate features a farmhouse with two rustic apartments. It is located in the medieval village of Cortine, in the municipality of Barberino/Tavernelle. Here, you’ll find yourself surrounded by vineyards and the winery.

An apartment for 4 people. On the ground floor: living/dining room and access to the shared terrace. Kitchen. On the first floor, there is a bedroom with a double bed, a bedroom with two single beds, and a bathroom with a shower and toilet. The bedrooms are equipped with window screens and air conditioning.
The second apartment, for 2 people. On the ground floor: a living/dining room with a fireplace, TV, and access to the furnished terrace; a kitchenette; a bedroom with a double bed, air conditioning, and window screens; and a bathroom with a tub and shower.

Wine tastings are held at the front of the terrace. You can, of course, taste the wines here and buy some if you’d like.

Wine Tasting at StuzziVino in Cortine

You can enjoy various tastings here—even if you’re not staying overnight—including cooking workshops. At the estate in Cortine, you’ll find the StuzziVino bar, which offers tastings of delicious Tuscan cheeses and cold cuts, or a full meal (Thursday through Sunday).

The vineyards span five major wine-growing regions, each with its own unique microclimate. The Sangiovese Toscano, Malvasia Bianca, and Trebbiano are complemented by international grape varieties such as Merlot and Petit Verdot.

The winery produces two types of wine: one is the estate’s most traditional and historic line, the Pieve di Campoli line, and the second line, Cortine, was created in 2019 to showcase the cru region of the ancient village of Cortine.

Two lines from two different areas—San Casciano val di Pesa and San Donato in Poggio—within the Chianti Classico region, each with its own distinct character, typical of the area. In addition, Pieve di Campoli produces a Vin Santo and, of course, olive oil.

Pieve di Campoli: in the heart of Chianti

The location is ideal for day trips to the most famous towns, such as Castellina in Chianti, Panzano in Chianti, Greve in Chianti, San Gimignano, Volterra, Florence, and Siena.

In addition, the property is, of course, surrounded by vineyards, olive trees, forests, and trails. It’s perfect for hiking, mountain biking, Nordic walking, and running.

The Badia a Passignano nature reserve, home to the famous Vallombrosan Abbey, is 10 km away. The cycling and hiking trail along the Pesa River is also located in the same valley.
