Tenuta San Marcello, a sustainable agritourism property in the Marche region

Pascale and Massimo run this tastefully renovated agriturismo and winery, which features its own restaurant. An authentic family-run business set in the peaceful, picturesque countryside of San Marcello di Jesi in Le Marche.

This farm is the realization of a dream: to give our children the opportunity to grow up and lead healthy lives, close to tradition, simplicity, and the cyclical rhythms of nature.

“Tenuta San Marcello was born from the idea that true luxury may lie in reconnecting with nature, enjoying the silence, and rediscovering your inner rhythm, in harmony with yourself and your surroundings. Enjoy the saltwater pool overlooking the hills and the surrounding flower-filled garden, with delightful spots to relax and breathtaking views of the hills of San Marcello di Jesi and the vineyards.”

San Marcello Estate

To make this dream a reality, Pascale and Massimo left Milan in 2009 to settle in the green heart of Le Marche. They fell in love with the region, the people, and the rural culture. And above all, they fell in love with “la lacrima di Morro d’Alba”—the red wine produced exclusively here. So they moved to San Marcello, in the hinterland of Senigallia.

Nature Takes Center Stage

Nearly 20 years later, the dream is still alive: the daily passion for sharing with guests their motivation and their goal of respecting nature, the seasons, and nature’s precious whims by choosing a “non-invasive environmental impact”; by offering simple, rustic hospitality with traditional dishes in the Osteria, and by cultivating native grapevines with dedication and love, without forcing them.

Rooms and apartments in 3 buildings

Tradition and comfort are in perfect balance on the estate. The agriturismo was built on the foundations of the old farmhouse and former rustic outbuildings, which have been carefully restored and furnished with modern amenities—all while fully complying with environmental standards.

The estate consists of three buildings (Il Casale, Il Fienile, and La Rimessa) and offers a selection of rooms or apartments; some can be combined, making them ideal for a family.

  • Rooms: 8 bright and spacious rooms with private bathrooms, including 1 with a private indoor jacuzzi, 6 double rooms, 1 triple room, and 1 quadruple room.
  • Apartments: 4 spacious and bright apartments. Each has its own entrance with a pergola, a double bedroom, a living room with a sofa bed and a kitchenette, a bathroom, and a pergola. Some apartments can be connected to a double bedroom via a connecting door, creating a three-room apartment with two bathrooms.

Groups can reserve the entire floor of Il Casale, which includes exclusive use of the kitchen and living room with a fireplace.

The former warehouse—La Rimessa—overlooks the vineyards. It features an apartment (Collimare) with its own jacuzzi and a guest room, both on the ground floor. You can enjoy the outdoor life under the pergola.

Saltwater Pool

Enjoy the beautiful saltwater pool overlooking the hill and the surrounding garden, with breathtaking views of the hills of San Marcello di Jesi and the vineyards.

Unique Wines Near Senigallia

Ideally situated among the beautiful hills of Le Marche and about 20 kilometers from the soft sandy beach of Senigallia, Tenuta San Marcello was established in a former farmhouse in this unique region, where they organically cultivate two native grape varieties: Lacrima di Morro d’Alba and Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi.

The harmonious blend of local tradition and simplicity with sophistication and comfort is also evident in the tasting room. In September and October, you can participate in the manual grape harvest and winemaking process. During the other months, you can also participate in wine tastings and workshops led by an oenologist.

Green Farm

Since the farm was founded, Pascale and Massimo have been committed to sustainable agricultural development—in harmony with the landscape and with a focus on local products.

The focus on sustainable hospitality, including the management of the rooms and apartments, has already been recognized with numerous awards, both from the guests themselves and from various certification bodies, including the Moneta Award from Slow Wine in 2017.

On the land, they practice regenerative agriculture, nourishing the soil with earthworm humus, green manure, and biodynamic preparations to naturally boost the vines’ resilience; this helps preserve and enrich soil biodiversity.

Osteria: Farm-to-Table at the Restaurant

At Osteria del Vignaiolo, haute cuisine techniques go hand in hand with sustainable farming practices. The menu features vegetarian dishes, local products, and meat (high-quality, but served in smaller portions).

The culinary offerings perfectly align with the “from vineyard to table” mission that the Osteria wants to introduce you to. And it certainly doesn’t detract from the flavor.

Surroundings: nature and historic villages and towns

Many of the surrounding villages are included on the list of “borghi più belli d’Italia.” Just a few kilometers from the estate lie villages such as Mondavio, Corinaldo, Cingoli, and Offagna, which, with their cobblestone streets, centuries-old city walls, and picturesque squares, offer a glimpse of the atmosphere of times gone by.

Urbino, Perugia, and Assisi are also great day trips from the agriturismo.

Last but not least: the Monti Sibillini Nature Park is an absolute must-see. This fascinating nature reserve offers breathtaking landscapes, majestic mountains, lush green valleys, and crystal-clear lakes. It’s a paradise for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
