Baudinet, cozy mountain huts in the Piedmont Alps

Rifugio Baudinet is located in the Cuneo Alps , and this unique spot can only be reached on foot. After a hike of about 3 kilometers through the forest, you’ll arrive at the “Baudinet Mountain Hut.”

Annamaria & Ferdinando extend a warm welcome to you here. Together with their border collie and three cats, they began their adventure at these former ruins of an old borgo. They have a deep love for nature and animals and were immediately enchanted by Baudinet. They’d love for you to enjoy the views, the beech forests, the silence, the stars… and they’d love to let you sample the delicious cuisine of Piedmont.

Baudinet can be reached on foot, by mountain bike, or on horseback via various trails. The route is uphill but not difficult to navigate. You’ll walk about 3 km through the woods and arrive at Rifugio Baudinet, in the Alps at an elevation of 1,150 meters, after about an hour.

In addition to beautiful walks, you can of course also choose one of the lounge chairs or hammocks to read a good book or just relax and do nothing at all.

How do you get to Baudinet?

You can park your car (for free) in Fiolera and hike uphill toward Baudinet from there in just under an hour. It’s not a difficult route, but it is uphill. You can also reach the mountain via other mountain trails—which are slightly longer—(as indicated on the Baudinet website).

Marguareis Park and the Pesio Valley

The Baudinèt plain borders the beautiful Marguareis Park. The location offers plenty of opportunities for beautiful walks in every season. Monumental beech trees, centuries-old chestnut trees, and lovely birches form the dense, expansive, magical forest that surrounds the Baudinèt clearing.

The Pesio Valley is home to extensive forests and beautiful flowers. Chiusa di Pesio has a charming historic center and is located about 15 km from Cuneo.

Hiking and Skiing

You can go on guided hikes, and in the winter you can head out with a ski instructor (for snowshoeing or skiing). For all skill levels. Baudinet is a great base for day hikes as well as multi-day trips in nature. You can arrange a transfer to the starting point of your hike or coordinate overnight stays with other lodges or hotels.

On the Cuneotrekking websites You can find more information about the hikes in Alpine Cuneo.
In the winter, you can go snowshoeing and skiing through the unspoiled landscape. Baudinet is also accessible in the winter via direct trails or longer routes.

Mountain bike or e-bike

On a mountain bike or e-bike, you can explore beautiful scenic trails that wind through the hills and mountains—from the mountains all the way to the sea. Baudinet is part of the Cuneo Bike Experience. They also have a charging station for e-bikes. On Cuneo Alps, you’ll find route suggestions, and Annamaria and Ferdinando are also happy to offer advice.

In addition to hiking and biking, Annamaria and Ferdinando also organize horseback riding tours, forest bathing, Nordic walking, stargazing evenings, wild herb foraging, and, in the winter, dog-sledding tours.

A wonderful and comfortable place for nature and outdoor enthusiasts. Even if you don’t feel like being active for a while…
