Chalet Matilde is a beautiful, luxurious chalet built almost entirely of wood. This gives the home not only great comfort but also a cozy atmosphere. The wood—Cadore larch—is interspersed with original stone walls that are about 100 years old. The friendly owner, Maurizio, will be happy to show you around the beautiful, nature-rich surroundings.
The chalet is located in the Veneto region. Here, you’re just a few minutes away from the ski slopes, the Dolomites nature parks, and the lakes, and a few kilometers from the Three Peaks of Lavaredo, Cortina, Misurina, and Lake Braies.
The house overlooks the mountains and is located about 44 kilometers from Lake Sorapis, 46 kilometers from Lake Braies, and 18 kilometers from the “Tre Cime,” the famous peaks of the Dolomites. Lake Cadore is 34 km away, and Wichtelpark is 37 km away.
Padola is a small, authentic village. Here, you’re away from the touristy villages in the Dolomites, yet everything is still close by. Just a few minutes’ walk away, you’ll find a bakery, a supermarket, and a pizzeria. There are also many starting points for hiking trails. It’s the perfect place to stay for a small group of hiking enthusiasts who want a comfortable and peaceful place to spend the night.
Chalet Matilde has a living room and a well-equipped kitchen with an espresso machine, oven/microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and minibar—perfect for cooking together.
There are 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed and a sofa bed. Each bedroom has a TV and an en suite bathroom. In total, there are no fewer than 3 bathrooms with a bidet and shower, so you can all take a quick shower after a day of hiking, biking, or skiing.
In addition, the house has a small infrared sauna where you can relax after a day spent in nature. Towels and bedding are provided. The chalet offers free Wi-Fi, free private parking (for 2 cars), and views of the city and mountains.
The house has a heated storage area for skis and ski boots, as well as space for two bicycles and an outlet for charging electric bikes. One bathroom has a washer and dryer. Linens are changed weekly.
The house has two floors, and you’ll have the place all to yourself. The owner is available and will stop by if you’d like.
In addition to a fantastic ski and cross-country skiing area, the Val Comelico offers endless opportunities for hiking, cycling, and mountain biking at every level. You can also go horseback riding, rock climbing, and sport fishing there. The valley is home to a large protected coniferous forest covering as much as 6,000 hectares. Access to this area is regulated during the summer.
The ski area is part of “Dolomiti Superski,” the largest ski area in the world. The ski runs that start in Padola and reach 2,000 meters are the starting point for the charming “UNESCO Dolomites Nature Park” route. Padola offers about 30 kilometers of cross-country trails winding through vast spruce forests in unspoiled nature.
The many charming villages are eager to introduce you to the region’s hospitable atmosphere and delicious traditional cuisine.
There are over 60 mountain bike trails, as well as many road bike and regular (e-)bike routes. http://www.comelicoutdoor.it/comelicoutdoor/percorsi.php?tipo=bicicorsa
