Day 2: Choose from two hikes: Lou Viol Dal Genesté or Campiglione

  • Lou Viol Dal Genesté: Distance: 10 km | Elevation gain: +565 m / -590 m | Duration: approx. 4 hours. A loop hike through forests and across mountain meadows. You’re very likely to spot marmots or birds of prey.
  • From Campiglione to San Michele di Prazzo: Distance: 14 km | Elevation gain: +780 m / -1105 m | Duration: approx. 5 hours. Panoramic and at a higher elevation, with views of the mighty Monviso (the source of the Po River).

Day 3: From San Michele to Ponte Maira

Distance: 17 km | Elevation gain: +1045 m / -985 m | Duration: approx. 7 hours

A challenging hike through mountain passes and abandoned granges (old farmhouses). You’ll end up in Ponte Maira, where homemade cake awaits as your reward.

Day 4: Chiappera and the Rocca Provenzale

  • Difficult: Distance: 10 km | Elevation gain: +905 m / -725 m | Duration: approx. 4 hours. Climb to Colle Greguri (2309 m) with views of the striking Rocca Provenzale.
  • Easier: Distance: 10.5 km | Elevation gain: +490 m / -490 m | Duration: approx. 4 hours. A leisurely route past Chiappera and through the forest.

Day 5: Sentiero Frassati

Distance: 13 km | Elevation gain: +945 m / -930 m | Duration: approx. 6 hours

A scenic hike along crystal-clear mountain lakes, including Lago Apzoi. Along the way, you’ll see bunkers that Mussolini once had built.

Day 6: Lago Nero

Distance: 10 km | Elevation gain: +665 m / -745 m | Duration: approx. 4 hours

One of the most beautiful spots in the Valle Maira. The deep-blue lake lies at an elevation of 2,227 meters, surrounded by larch forests and offering views of Rocca la Meja and Monviso.

Day 7: Circular Hike in Borgate di Marmora

Distance: 9 km | Elevation gain: +510 m / -500 m | Duration: approx. 3 hours

Day 8: Departure

After one last breakfast, you’ll return to Prazzo and take the bus to Dronero.
